Responding to Domestic and Family Violence Launch
Ridley College is committed to training Christians for God’s mission in the world. With recent findings discovered in the National Anglican Family Violence Project 2021, Ridley College is also committed to training men and women to respond sensitively and appropriately to those suffering from domestic abuse. Recent research commissioned by the National Anglican Family Violence Project has confirmed that Anglicans experience Domestic and Family Violence at the same rate, or higher, than the general population. Ridley College is committed to training men and women to respond sensitively and appropriately to those experiencing domestic and family violence. On 9 August we launched a new, free online subject as part of the Ridley Certificate called Responding to Domestic and Family Violence, presented by Erica Hamence. In this online launch event, Andrew Judd (Ridley Certificate Coordinator) joins Erica Hamence (Barneys Broadway / Common Grace), Bishop Genieve Blackwell (chair of Preventing Violence Against Women project and member of General Synod family violence working group) and Robyn Andréo-Boosey (Preventing Violence Against Women program manager) to discuss the research, and how this new online course will equip the broader church community to address domestic violence in our churches.
