Paediatric Hospital Spiritual Care Practitioner
Part-time:
15 hours per week (2 positions) or
30 hours per week (1 position)
The Presbyterian Church of Victoria’s Health and Community Chaplaincy Committee is seeking to employ two paediatric hospital chaplains to serve at the Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne.
The positions are part time: 15 hours per week (0.4 Full Time Equivalent). They are classified as Level 2 under the Health Professionals and Support Services Award 2020, and will be remunerated accordingly.
Spiritual Care practitioners are integral members of the RCH multidisciplinary healthcare team providing and overseeing professional spiritual care for patients, their families and carers, and RCH staff.
Spiritual Care practitioners ensure professional care that is sensitive, responsive, and appropriate to the diversity of spiritual needs experienced by patients, families/carers and staff. RCH Spiritual Care practitioners work collegially, with members of the healthcare team, and with spiritual care providers in the wider community. Spiritual Care practitioners at RCH work in a diverse environment offering care that is characterised as inclusive of all people. Spiritual Care is understood to be a person centred, relational, and holistic approach to the care of persons.
The Department of Spiritual Care provides 24 hour a day service to the hospital with evening and weekend coverage achieved by Spiritual Care practitioners participating in an on-call roster for after-hours service.

The Health and Community Chaplaincy Committee oversee Presbyterian staff and volunteer chaplains in hospitals, aged care, the police, prisons, the CFA, sporting organisations, the deaf community and universities across Victoria.
