Fees
It is worth noting that student fees only cover half the cost of running Ridley Melbourne. This means that in order to cover costs we have to find other income. This comes from generous donations from individuals, churches, Trusts and the Ridley Foundation. So all students at Ridley are subsidised.
Student Fees
Course fees are invoiced at the beginning of each semester (semester one - February, semester two - July) and are due and payable in full within 30 days of the invoice date.
Ridley Melbourne offers various methods of account payment. These are detailed on our invoices.
Part fees will be refunded in the event of withdrawal from a course of study within the first two weeks of lectures, but not after that date.
Fees for units which continue for the whole year are payable in semester two.
Ridley may use the services of its accredited mercantile agency for collection of any overdue fees; however, in particular cases, the Principal may exercise discretion for the fee collection to be handled by Ridley itself.

Fee-Help
Since 2005 Ridley students have been able to access financial help from the Commonwealth Government to help pay their tuition fees.
FEE-HELP provides students with a long of up to $85,062 (from 1 January, 2010, this amount is indexed each year) over their lifetime towards their tuition fees. The fees are paid by the Government to the ACT (the Higher Education Provider). The student may pay back the debt at any time, but must do so when their taxable income reaches $43,150 per annum (2009-2010 figure, indexed each year in line with the CPI).
To be eligible for FEE-HELP a student must:
- be an Australian citizen (permanent residents, including New Zealand citizens are not eligible); or the holder of a permanent humanitarian visa; or the holder of a permanent visa who is undertaking bridging study for overseas-trained professions. If you fall into the latter categories you must also be resident in Australia for the duration of the unit.
- have completed Ridley's application and registration procedures by the appropriate deadlines (see page 26).
- have lodged their separate FEE-HELP Application Form with the Registrar on or behalf the appropriate census date.
There is a 20% loan fee each time a loan is taken out for undergraduate units of study, such as the undergraduate degrees BTh and BMin. There is no loan fee on assistance for units of study in a post/graduate course, such as the Graduate Diplomas, Master of Divinity, the MA's and research awards.
FEE-HELP may be taken even in a student has a HECS debt.
